Not being a permanent deal may come back an bite the US in the ass. Remember they also have a 90-day temporary ceasefire with the rest of the world but it ends 1 month prior to this new deal with China. This gives 1 months of turmoil for the US (already baked into the supply chain) and possibly more due to traffic jams and then 1 month of negotiations where other countries can press their case with US before China comes back and without looking like the bad guy. Likely it will defer to the general mood of how others approach the US in renegotiations i.e. if others play hard ball, it too can drive a hard bargain or if others end things amicably, it too will do so.

Moreover, uncertainty will still be exist in the markets as the deals are not permanent so investment into the domestic US manufacturing will be placed on hold and though I can see US companies trying to stock up even more from the tariff cuts fearing things fall through in 90-days.

It's guaranteed that there will be surge in ships to the US, and therefore large traffic jams at US ports.

And it's more like the rest of the world will be waiting for whatever China-US agree to, before doing anything.

The UK just signed a deal with the US, and now they look kind of stupid because the UK has agreed to endure 10% tariffs whilst the UK can't impose any tariffs.

Saudi ‘optimistic’ about securing Trump backing for Palestine recognition this week

Officials in Saudi Arabia are reported to be “optimistic” that they can secure US President Donald Trump’s backing for a fresh Middle East peace deal, including American recognition of a Palestinian state.

The deal, first reported by Israel’s public broadcaster Kan, is believed to include provisions for the formalisation of statehood, tied to an end of hostilities in Gaza and normalisation of relations between Israel and Arab states.

Citing an official in the Kingdom’s royal family, the report suggests that some details (including normalisation) remain up for negotiation but that recognition and “war termination” are firm conditions of any agreement.

This would appear to mirror reports last week that the Trump administration had quietly dropped normalisation with Israel as a requirement for agreeing a civil nuclear deal with Riyadh.

The source told Kan that there is a sense of “optimism” among Saudi negotiators that Trump will be willing to back the proposals during his tour of the region this week.

Trump will stop off in Saudi, the UAE and Qatar with the agenda set to include topics ranging from trade and investment to the conflicts in Gaza and Yemen.

However, a stop in Israel is not on the itinerary, with Prime Minister Netanyahu having made the journey to the White House twice since Trump re-took office. Indeed, the Washington Post cited a senior Trump official joking that a face-to-face with Netanyahu was unnecessary as the Israeli leader has already visited Washington “700 times” since November’s election.

The trip holds extra significance for hostage campaigners, though, as Israeli ministers have suggested that the chance of any deal with Hamas to return those still held in Gaza will “vanish” when Trump leaves the region.

The decision not to visit Jerusalem has also deepened concern that the US is increasingly willing to conduct Middle East policy unilaterally regardless of pressure from its key regional allies. Just yesterday, the welcome announcement that American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander would be freed also carried the news that his release was negotiated directly between Washington and Hamas, without consulting Israel.

Likewise, negotiations over the Iran nuclear deal are reported to be less focussed on complete denuclearisation despite that being one of Israel’s key demands.

Instead, Trump – who is understood to hope to further his reputation as a global peacemaker – is reported to be willing to compromise on most of the major issues in the region in order to secure some form of agreement. Key areas include Iran’s nuclear programme, the expansion of the Abraham Accords, a Gaza ceasefire and the reconstruction of Syria.
Dude is not gonna survive the next assassination attempt. He has big balls though and I respect that…

Looks like Agent Boeing 47 is going to get an new mission.

Putin accepts Modi's invitation to visit India, Kremlin says

MOSCOW, May 5 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the country, the Kremlin said on Monday.

Putin and Modi emphasized during the call which took place on Monday that relations between Russia and India were not affected by external influence and continue to develop dynamically.

The Indians might be lashing out over western siding with Pakistan. The non-Indian media in general was mostly focused on what the Pakistani POV said during the military phase and then the IMF pushed through with the Pakistani loan.

If they make meaningful moves towards Russia because certain GOI officials are salty about CNN and Reuters reporting....
It's so stupid I think there could be a grain of truth in it.

If you think you slapped down Pakistan hard targeting all their airfields and suffering no damage in return but every western media just reports both sides traded missiles, I guess I'll be a salty nationalist too.

The EuroFailures are issuing an ultimatum for the unconditional surrender of Russia by the end of the day lol.

Germany warned the “clock is ticking”for Russia to agree by the end of Monday to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine or face potential new sanctions.

If Moscow does not accept the demand, “preparations will be set in motion”for fresh sanctions, government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius said, after European leaders demanded during a weekend visit to Kyiv that Russia agree to the ceasefire.

I only care that India stops obstructing and behaves according to Chinese interests. If it takes being humiliated militarily by China/Pakistan then slapped diplomatically by the west so be it. They should understand that what China is the most patient teacher and maybe is the real vishwaguru. They would be wise to pick up the lessons.
