I don't really like CKS. He's the prime example of an ISTJ NPC leader where we must do things the traditional way because thats what we did before.

But seeing this made me pretty angry for some reason. I mean the fact is, Taiwan is relevant because of him. You can't deny his rule brought that Island into what it is today. The DPP are basically just piggybacking off its decades of work.

This is the only outcome of someone who refuse to accept defeat and step down in grace. Usually in China, when a former dynasty lost the rule, there were two outcomes, one was to surrender/abdicte, the other was to fight to death. The first option usually led to the imperial house demoted to the rank of prince and treatment as guest at the grace of the new imperial house. There was one exception though, northen Song's emperors after being captured were humiliated by the Jin dynasty.

Jiang (Chiang) was in a proposal given a pardon (from persecution of war crime), and his son (Jiang Jingguo) being appointed as vice-president of PRC. The family would be given a state residence in the same way as retirement of PRC leaders. Since PRC still acknowledge KMT (revolution faction) as ligitimate party in the congress, Chiang or his son would have been a member of the national congress. This is as good as an emperor abdiction in the old time. He would have been praised for putting national unification before personal interest. He just refused, now he is the bad guy on both sides of the straight, his own choice.

My view is that KMT in Taiwan is stupid, DPP is discusting.
