I'm guessing next step would be to make all Chinese people wear a yellow five pointed star on their chest?WTF, where are the news reports on this?
I'm guessing next step would be to make all Chinese people wear a yellow five pointed star on their chest?
Any nation that puts Chinese people into concentration camps forfeits its right to exist with its land and fertile women to joining the People's Republic, and i say this as a Chinese born and grown up in the occupied territory of taiwan.I'm guessing next step would be to make all Chinese people wear a yellow five pointed star on their chest?
Not really, as even in your example, they tried to kidnap a Chinese citizen exactly once and got their spy ring leaders put behind bars in return for it. And the whole saga ended with them just giving up (although not total defeat as they didn't have to pay compensation). The U.S. has already done worse PR disasters like trying to steal danish territory and kidnapping Meng Wenzhou To say nothing of its targeted assassinations in Iran. Killing Chinese AI experts is par for the course with them.

Trump and Putin will devour them like the garden salad that they are.
I guarantee it will not be a PR disaster for USA if Deepseek team were EVER to go to USA WEST- 'false flag" terrorist group-say Uighurs/Tibetans,or a simple plane crash(never mind collateral damage) ,mass food poisoning,a bad carbon monoxide leak in their hotel rooms,a vicious criminal gang robbery/shootout.Of course the brave USA law enforcement/military tried to rescue these Chinese nationals alas all were killed in the attack.Trump sends his deepest condolences for China's great loss. The usual shit from Christians In Action.People really think US will risk the absolute PR disaster if they tried to hurt or detain a DeepSeek employee?
At worst they'll try to get one to defect.
I think it is highly dependent on who achieved the breakthrough first. Because while the initial breakthrough is of course critically important, so is the ability to roll things out at pace and scale.
Super advanced designs doesn’t mean much when they are stuck on the drawing board.
So, if China achieves AGI first, it’s basically GG for America. But if America gets there first, even with a 2 year head start, it would be unwise to count China out.
