They all have something in common, and that's Xtian religion. The same lens can be applied to Chinese, Koreans, Filipinos etc. that have swallowed hook, line, and sinker the ideology of peace, turned into a perverse compulsion to become genocidal maniacs.
India has pride built on a heap of shit. They want to be independent. Their pride compels them to not compromise on anything, and instead use their own power to achieve results that favor them more than anybody else. The problem is: they don't have any power of their own, nor any influence, nor anything to offer to the world. All they have is false pride which useless in the global market. As a result, they often make stupid choices, setting targets beyond their ability to achieve, making demands that others can reject without major loss. You can see this across a very broad spectrum; notable examples: joining the losing side in a war (twice in Afghanistan, once in Sri Lanka); demanding full ToT from US and French weapons suppliers (which the latter rejected); pivoting back and forth between US and Russia (ensuring both view India as unreliable); planning trade routes through Iran while dealing with Israel (choked under pressure of US sanctions). False pride left them isolated.
Dunno what it's like in China but anywhere in the West you could insert two balloons under your shirt and go to gym identifying as a woman. State will protect you even if you had a mustache.
