I don't know why you're getting so hung up on the fact that China was able to poach the gold medalist talent while Luxemburg's "cream of the crop" is some old Chinese lady. She's literally their most competitive offering.

Just like the various fifth columnists that end up going to the west to talk shit about China. What are they? Some no life losers, literal scam artists and cultists, radical feminists, dregs of society that couldn't cut it in China. Addendum: also shitlibs that everyone hates.

A day may come when America crumples. But that day is not now or in the near future. Until then, there’s nothing the Palestinians or Iranians can do about it. They are simply over matched.

I haven’t seen any country do anything meaningful for the Palestinians. A lot of yelling of response, response….and then nothing.

I don't hold anything against Eileen Gu for maximally exploiting all the opportunities available to her. That being said, I certainly also don't look at her as a Chinese sports hero in the same vein as the Chinese gold medalists that are born, raised, and stay in China. She's just another classic mercenary like the various foreign coaches hired to train Chinese gold medalists. You can always pay them for their skills, but you always know it's only about the money. They are not the same people who would be fighting foreign imperialists on behalf of China during a time when China is oppressed, exploited, and disadvantaged. They are not "true believers". She's like the ones who fled to HK, Taiwan, and elsewhere during China's darkest hours. Or the ones who fled to Australia, Canada, and US in more recent times to preserve their corruption money stolen from public coffers or other corruption activities. They fled to preserve or expand their wealth, and they return when there is wealth to loot from China. There's no trust, faith, or patriotism there at all. Just purely exploitative or transactional.

Russia want to avoid this fate of Germany/Europe thats why it has to throw out the trash from its society that is undermining demographics. for this to happen the Ukraine war has to be conducted in a way that meet the Royal families of Arabia standards. there are many ways Russia is thanking them.

Regarding the second part, I have yet to see Hamas "defeated", Palestinians expelled, Gaza controlled again and other pipe dreams.

All I see is even more recruits for Hamas, more international support of all kinds, Iran getting stronger as a regional power by day, etc.

Keep in mind that the US and their Westoid European allies has been defeated and beaten into amnesia by Houthis, Iraninan junior partner.

So, who is over matched? The US is - by everyone nowadays. And it's a question how effectively they even defend their own borders anymore.

Honestly, it's Wang's fault for not putting his paddle in a proper place. As I understand, he threw it to the ground in celebration and forgot about it, and thus, it was stepped on by a photographer whose head was understandably buried in his camera.

Interesting background context. Again, I was not trying to single her out in particular though. Also, I doubt Wang lost because of the paddle. He admitted himself that he was emotionally rattled by the broken paddle and it led to many mistakes. I'm sure his backup paddle is just as good as the main one.

Enlightenment thinkers were often times big fans of Confucianism and meritocratic governance. That didn’t change the fact that Qing Empire became a rotted carcass of a once great nation and deserved every bit of disdain.

Living in the SF Bay Area where Kamala Harris started her political career, I have always seen her identify as black more than Indian. Not that she doesn't at all, it's just not like how Trump and Republicans are trying to spin it to claim she has no identity with the black community. I enjoy how Republicans are acting like chickens with their heads cut-off. Not sure why. Just embrace their nature because they fool no one. They want to say Chinese but they know if they do, they even recognize they look racist. That's why Republicans are hypocritically being politically correct. It's so off for them that when they try to look "civil" they fail miserably. Next thing you'll hear is Trump claiming he's more black than Kamala so black people have to vote for him.
