Did you not consider the timing of the announcement? Right after the assassination attempt?

Basically Trump has a slam dunk for the election, so there is zero pressure on his choice of running mate from a votes POV, so the primary considering seems to be to choose someone no one would want running the country if anything happens to Trump. To give himself extra protection against further assassination attempts.

In Trump’s mind, if he picked anyone who could feasibly do even a non-terrible job of being POTUS, then that’s like him sticking a big ‘shoot me’ sign on his forehead.

man, that’s a nasty career ending foot injury, I don’t want to seem unkind so I wish him and his family a speedy recovery. Hopefully he will have grown wiser and less stupid about China.

Just a fraction of a second, and centimeters away from the Republicans having to replace their Presidential candidate. The MAGA and Trump fans must now think that Trump had had divine intervention.

Perhaps "God" has greater plans for America (and the rest of the world) by letting Trump live to lead his nation once again. When I hear about that Trump-Republican plan to cut taxes, double-down on tariffs, and devalue the USD, it almost sounds as if "God" really does have a plan for America. Hyperinflation, here we go! God bless America! Looking forward to Round 2 of Trump vs China.

6 people died by cyanide poisoning in a luxury hotel in Bangkok. The victims were 4 Vietnamese, and 2 Americans of Vietnamese decent.

This case appears to be murder-suicide, with the murder suspect being among the dead. There was an apparent dispute over investments prior to the murders. I think this news is gonna be a hot discussion in Vietnam. The US government appears interested in this case, so who knows what had happened.

It's like someone once said, looking at the past 30 years, China must have some kind of divine intervention to regain the mandate of heaven. Defeated the 1989 color revolution, 2001 New York attack heading off the GWOT (delaying the then pivot to Asia by 15 years), Trump 2016, and now Trump 2024
