My impression is that there weren't much physical fighting in Taiwan's parliament when the DPP had the majority. Now that the DPP lost the majority, they immediately resort to violence to stop legislation that they oppose.

you often write about demographics but still not understanding demographic trends in the world.. Trump was going in direction of solving Arab Israeli conflict according to Saudi logic . there is no need to waste time on Europe as it can never withstand combined alliance of US-Gulf Arabs. even without US support Arabs kickout France from Africa and Europe is basically on its Knees in front of Arabs. Trump in first term helped MBS consolidate power so he can project power outwards. EU need US as without US tech/materials EU cannot full fill Arab expectations.
What Trump set out to do and what he accomplished are different things. By the time his administration ended, none of his grand strategic ideas were accomplished but his party lost the American public and the Gulf states, Russia, and South America are closer to China than ever.
This is why I talk about incompetence and not goal setting.
