Why do the Americans think they can just go to war with China over Taiwan and wipe out their debts? Are they that confident about victory, that they think they can impose Opium War 3.0 on China? It's essential for the PLAN to have more carriers than the entire NATO for force projection because PLA forces will be needed to maintain de facto and eventually de jure control over alaska, California and washington state.

Funny how global warming/climate change became a non issue once China became the leading edge of NEV and green tech; it's almost like the west championed global warming to keep the rest of the 2nd and 3rd world poor and deindustrialise.

The ultimatum is coming. Basically demanding the unconditional surrender of China and Russia.

Meanwhile, US is selling billions in weapons to Taiwan that can kill Chinese soldiers, but China cannot sell basic machine tools and circuits to Russia that have perfectly legitimate civilian use? Eff you.

China should give the biggest middle finger, shift the bilateral trade to regional banks with no exposure to US financial system, and let them sanction away.
Copium/hopium fading in effect and reaching acceptance stage?

The ideal situation is they think China is 10 years away from collapse, they become complacent and procrastinate, so China just keeps collapsing upwards in the mean time.

US Senate passes bill to force ByteDance to sell TikTok or face a ban of the app

  • Legislation, packaged with major foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, now heads to President Joe Biden, who has vowed to sign it into law
  • Vote by a margin of 79-18 follows months of congressional fast-tracking and lobbying over app with more than 175 million American users

Well US internet and social media companies were already forced out of China years ago so it makes little sense to retaliate. Better to focus on competing with US platforms in the international market and forget about the US market.

Small but fundamentally important correction. The US companies were never forced out of China. They left because they chose not to follow the laws in China.
