How weak is your national identity and sovereignty that you feel the need to assassinate separatists that don’t even live at home? Dalai Lama has been peddling bullshit for decades and China hasn’t even bothered to touch him. And he’s heaps more influential than this guy.

China certainly threatens and influences overseas people who are publicly critical of the PRC. But I can't think of any example of assassination.
Assassinating foreign based critics is much more common in Western "democracies" because they can't control the media. China doesn't need to kill anyone to silence them in domestic media
