Lol German civilians can claim they didn’t deserve to die because they didn’t know of the concentration camps, but the Japanese civilians knew exactly what their soldiers were doing. Why do you think they were suiciding before being captured by Americans? Because they were afraid others would do onto them the same. Their war crimes were published in newspapers and supported by the civilians. Not to mention the slaves they captured from the continent. Let’s not act like Japanese civilians weren’t in on it. In contrast, Japanese published a beheading contest bragging about who could kill the most Chinese. Let's not mince words here, the Japanese population had way, way more understanding of IJA crimes than an average German civilian would have about the Holocaust.
