The US is fortunate to dictate 'free market' capitalism at it's discretion primarily because of one reason. Energy!
Or specifically oil which is traded in USD.
Of course having the post powerful military with global reach helps enforced that notion.
The moment oil trading is fractured and the USD is no longer the defacto medium of exchange, will also be the day US loses it's superpower status.
In other words, petrodollar becomes petroyuan or petroeuro or Petroyen etc.
It may likely happen one day but I'll be long dead.
If you aren't in hospice right now, you'll with most certainty see the definitive day lol
It's a gradual process that has already started since a while, accelerated by the Ukraine war. Most oil producers by volume now align with China, China has just yet not made the call to kick America out, because it would be disruptive to do it out of the blue.
US is hardly "fortunate" to own an economy where little is produced and the vast majority cannot afford what would be basic services and goods in normal countries. An overvalued currency has caused severe insult to the American people, and more than anything, a country's power IS it's people. How educated they are, how much they own, how good health they're in etc. The failure of America to compete with China is directly tied to the failure of America to take care of its own people.
