However, removing the human inclination towards superstition, upon which religion is based and which it encourages and exploits to perpetuate itself, is the true challenge to “civilization“, which, itself, has some bases in both. A confusing, complex conundrum, huh?Removing influence of religion is a good thing. Look at what these crazy folks doing in US politics.
Large part of Enlightenment era of western civilization is about curtailing the influence of religion, and is the foundation of rise of west. Using western religion as an example is poor.
Yet Chinese money alone made Parasite look small. If Parasite was all that good then it'll have gotten more Chinese money, but it didn't.If Chinese money was good enough, people wouldn't be debating how China could make their movies have the same reach Hollywood does and we wouldn't be having this discussion. If you think as long as Chinese movies are making enough money in China then Chinese movies are in a healthy state then more power to you, for others though that's clearly not the case.
So because Genshin made a lot of money are you trying to say the title of video game hegemon belongs to China now? What has China released since Genshin? Meanwhile compare a single game to Japan's IP's stretching back to the 80s. Its not even a competition bro. I seriously don't know what point you're making with all this.
If Taiwanese and Hong Kong movies are so good, where are they now? Those film techniques are outdated for our 2 second attention spans. From what i can remember, pre-2000 prc film and tv were pretty terrible. They only got better once they started co-productions with taiwan/hk which were influence by the west/free-market techniques rather than communist/state led techniques.
I'm starting to think that this Witchhunter12 guy is a concern troll, as his username suggests
Reporter: Wolf Warrior only had a big box office because of the large Chinese market.
Wu Jing: Chinese money isn't money?
If Parasite was so good, how come it couldn't compete in the Chinese market?

Zelda tears of the kingdom revenue: $0.7 billion. Still much smaller than Genshin.
Your entire Zelda franchise over 36 years is smaller than Genshin at only $3.4 billion.
Now add Honkai.Couple of Chinese games I can think of are Dyson Sphere Program, Sands of Salzaar, Amazing Cultivation Simulator. All are quite good and measure up to some of the corresponding American titles (Factorio, Rimworld, etc.)
Also in my experience Genshin Impact is crazy among ABC's. So many ABC friends have played and even payed for things in Genshin Impact. While Elden Ring is a very good game (one of my favorites), I don't know anybody irl who has played, much less completed, the game. So although "quality" (this is very debatable), might be different, Genshin Impact's market reach even in America is unlike anything I've seen.
With Honkai star rail, it’s only going to become even bigger. Face it, Chinese games will eventually become a world wide phenomenon while Japanese game despite how good many of them are will eventually no longer compare because all they do is stay within its safety lane and recycle the same tropes over and over while the Chinese are willing to try something now. Seriously, ever wonder why so many big name Japanese voice actors can be found voicing Chinese games whilst they don’t feature much in current anime, well they can see where the money is and over time, we Chinese are going to be eating pretty damn good and I am looking forward to Honor of kings world whilst to be honest, there isn’t much to look forward to Japanese gaming although I look forward to western games even less given what is happening to overwatch 2

Are you trying to start a witch hunt?On a more serious note, does anyone get Sleepy vibes here given one persons ability being quite similar in how they manage to derail the thread with statement that have mostly been proven false and that even then they still continue to derail everything without any recourse what so ever
What could you possibly mean, I don’t own a pitchfork…Are you trying to start a witch hunt?![]()
You are probably overthinking this. It more likely that Chinese game publishers are willing to fork out the extra money for veteran VAs while Japanese anime production committees are infamously stingy.Seriously, ever wonder why so many big name Japanese voice actors can be found voicing Chinese games whilst they don’t feature much in current anime
True but really it does say a bit when Japan cannot really shell enough to bring in the big guns for animation as consistently as before but still I don’t see Japanese voice actors being replaced given there niche and appeal but I do see Chinese voice greatly improving to the point where their appeal will broaden to being on a similar level to a Japanese voice actor (I mean from what I saw of recent games, especially honkai impact I see the voice acting quality improve a lot of the past few years since it’s begging). Still this speaks volumes as to how much the Chinese entertainment scene has improved and still have room to greatly improve and expand. This is compared to the stagnation of the Japanese entertainment industry in general that seems to be stagnating as a whole whilst doing little to innovate and really the only selling point these days are their voice actors and past glories attachedYou are probably overthinking this. It more likely that Chinese game publishers are willing to fork out the extra money for veteran VAs while Japanese anime production committees are infamously stingy. When Chinese VA industry also matures, you may very well see less of this happening.IIRC I read somewhere that climbing the veterancy ladder for a VA in Japan is not necessarily a good thing. Because the mandatory raise in pay may also mean there are less offers being tendered. Not that the pay was good to begin with.
The dogsh*t pay is also why many VAs do part-time works elsewhere and/or take on alternate stage name and do R-18 works (seriously, look up some famous VAs in VNDB and be prepared to have a laugh).
