Besides, overreliance on exams and grades tends to create a gamification of education system and a therefore professionals that graduate from it. It trains people to focus entirely on metrics being measures like GPA and Extracurriculars rather than becoming that type of person who would be successful and ambitious outside of school. Kind of like pursuing the form not the substance of dedication of the US economy on the measurement of GDP rather than the real value produced or Politicians that are the best a winning elections or fighting internal politic struggle but no nothing about leading a country.

Truer than you know. Anyone whose ever worked corporate quickly cottons on that there are protected classes of people and Asian men are not that class. It tends to be the white Anglo, Jewish or otherwise who get the choice assignments and promotions and opportunities. Asians are expected to do the work and then some and every day is a constant fight for your career and job as the attitude of white Anglo bosses are that they’re paying you all this money that could be spent on a failson or faildaughter of a white Anglo or Jewish background.
