We should not underestimate the caste system and how destructive that is still. Yet, they do nothing about it.
Then such practical matters such as a factory. We can tell there is really low levels of industrialization in India, because most Indians really have no concept of how a factory actually works. They have no idea of that, because they never seen one.
It is that expression, give them circuses and give them bread.
In India, give the lower classes the circus and spiritualism or religion, and they will be content, that allows the upper classes to make out like bandits like they always do.

It causes complete social and economic immobility, breeds hostility akin to interreligious fanaticism, suppresses levels of education, employment, wages. This is just for those so called "lower castes", so called "untouchables" have it worse. There's over 150 million of these dalits in India. Increasing hindutva influence is only making things worse. People only focus on the Hindu/Muslim conflict worsened by BJP/RSS hindutva element but the caste divide is also getting widened as high caste hindus get more and more emboldened by their ruling party.
One could say that the US elites basically are trying to replicate the caste system too in the US in order to permanently solidify their privileges over everybody else.
There's a big difference from attempting to shoot someone's head over 400 ft away versus point blank range with a shotgun.
