It ain't that easy to diversify rare earth production after all lol

"You’re ten years away from even coming close to having a fully diversified supply chain. To open a mine is not like building a factory. To open a mine can take three to four years of planning, then permits for two years and another three years if everything goes smoothly, which it rarely does, then two years to build. You’ve already spent eight years before you’ve even started production.”

They don't want to admit that China has an edge in the technology to mine and process rare earths as well

One day US will come out with some law to negate all Chinese IP.
It's these little things that US policymakers don't really think about, because the US no longer selects for intelligence, but rather inane shit like if you got übermensch genes ie new englander whelp or slavish coloured folk pets.

Look at all the rare earths miners on wall street today, or even here in Australia; they do well on news but they'll never be profitable because the market ie the public are largely ignorant on rare earth mining.

My impression is that a couple of those 17 elements are really hard to find great quantities.

Unless they can demonstrate they can supply the market with all 17 elements, China has control of the world supply of rare earths.

If the US kept abusing its tech and dollar supremacy and disregard other countries sovereignty, then expect more push back. What Trump did to the Chinese tech industry has a consequence.

I do not think we even have to go that far to consider the question of whether Europe will join America's side in the world, to set a common front to global problems or issues.

The fact is Europe thinks for itself, and likes to view itself as an independent actor on the world stage.

The European wanting a more self-sufficient high tech industry is just a natural desire among nations.

That Europe will automatically side with America, against China or anyone else, that is unnatural. There is no reason to believe that, even though some people in the world accept that as fact, which the fact is that it is unnatural.

What the Australian government did to itself and its own country, by supporting the United States blindly last couple of years, now those results were stunning, that was unnatural.

:D
