I had this book on my school reading list back in high school and even back then I thought this is all pretty strange description of what guerilla warfare is like. I don't know how Australians would fight a people's war against occupiers but I'm pretty sure it's not like that. It's got a very similar tone to today's trashy 抗日神剧 in China.
This book also came up in uni once where my tutor was saying he also thinks its stupid and if Australia is occupied he wouldn't resort to terrorism to try to resist, he would work with the occupiers because they seem to have won fair and square militarily and he would rather not get more Australian killed resisting (potentially pointlessly).
So despite the chest puffing and mental masturbation of this book when push comes to shove I suspect there will be cases of 澳奸 going "PLA comrades, this way", or much more likely when the going looks bad with US Australia will switch horses, much like Australians did in WW2 when they switched from British Empire to US after Fall of Singapore.
