Indeed. I am surprised that some are genuinely mourning his death. His takes as an irrelevant grandpa were for the most part all right, but when he actually held power as a National Security Advisor & Secretary of the State he caused nothing but devastation and havoc.
Two reason:
1) He was good at his job and actually leveraged geopolitical factors to the US’s favor instead of endlessly parroting rule of law or Democracy like the current batch of so-called statesmen.
2) Even though he did it purely through American interests his actions did pave way to Sino-American rapproachment, and people in China did appreciate that.
