Yemen had the whole Iranian state funnelling arms to it though
True, but it's not like Niger has zero backers (Algeria is pretty strong and seems willing to back Niger).

Anyways, the actual military of the two countries is pretty weak. Nigeria is stronger, but still pretty backward and old (their most modern and best trump cards are likely the various drones they got).

holy shit you replied fast

yeah. I'm still in industry (trapped 4ever...) but thankfully no longer directly employed by uncle sam

also, now that I can say it, FUCK the DIA, that place is an absolute shithole.
I happened to just refresh "What's new" at the perfect time, so you got a fast reply.

Also, lol, so you did get out. Possible to say more about your former workplace or current? Or all under some protection and you would get in trouble?

Nigeria has a population of 200+ million and is one of the wealthiest countries in Africa, while its target has a population of merely 25 million, and is one of the poorest countries in Africa. What reason do we have that this war won't be another Saudi Arabia in Yemen situation?
Cause Algeria is militarily backing the current Niger government and Nigeria's military is no match for Algeria's.

Algeria backing it would most likely mean that Morocco would automatically join the opposite side though

I believe Algeria is backing the new government and Algeria has a frankly ridiculously OP military compared to every other African country except Egypt.

I probably offer to do it better for an exorbitant price, not meet my contractual deadline, demand more funding to make up the difference, and deliver a technically compliant product that isn't actually what they wanted and doesn't do what it needs to do

just like fucking everything else we purchase
Dear god, are the lawyers even developing the weapons over there?! Brings entirely new meaning to the term lawfare if so.

Yeah! Religion and the sword, what a perfect combination. Imagine the Spanish conquest of the Philippine needed just 2,000 soldiers and 400 monks to accomplished, okay not the whole of the country because the south or Mindanao is Muslim and are able to resist.

Today's equivalent of Collective West subjugation is the same with an addition of "Democracy"...lol
That is why the media variant of softpower is pure bullshit. The old school version of soft power the economic one is truly effective. You buy the 1% or find mid level oligarch and elevate them to the top and they will use their influences over the masses to sell out their country. Don't forgot the catholic church is one the richest institution in the world and they convinced the people of the earth they shouldn't pay taxes...
