Until the gender imbalance in China is fixed, Chinese men marrying Vietnamese women isn't going to stop happening.

Vietnam is geographically and culturally close. Lots of Vietnamese people speak Chinese and there is a sizeable ethnic Chinese population in Vietnam. Vietnam is also poorer than China, so Chinese men generally make attractive marriage partners for Vietnamese women looking for a better life.

The number of young women working in electronics assembly has been dwindling for many years. Average ages for factory workers in China is 39. 1/4 of factory workers are over 50 which is double a decade ago.

You won't see many college women working in manufacturing jobs. In addition, even though there are more men than women in China, more women than men attend the country's universities.
