The best way to shake some sense into these EU trash is to retaliate with a ban on Italian luxury goods. Literally contributes nothing to China and will splinter the EU because italy already hates Germany and France. If that isn’t enough just ban German cars.

While that might be emotionally satisfying, Chinese leaders have consistently proven that they never allow important national decisions to be influenced by emotions.

While it can be frustrating watching from the sidelines as China appears to keep taking hits without hitting back, but behind the scenes, China is constantly making smart, strategic, proactive moves of its own that usually don’t pay off until 15 moves later.

The west has somewhat realised this, but lacking the political capital, unity of purpose and continuity of government and policy, it cannot effectively counter Chinese moves. Thus they resort to such juvenile antics hoping to provoke an emotional reaction from China that distracts it from its own, superior long game. It’s basically the proverbial idiots strategy of dragging you down to their level and winning through experience.

China is wise to ignore these transparent ploys.

Also this-

‘The US government intimidated several WWII veterans who wanted to fly to Moscow for the Victory Day parade, Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov claimed on Monday.

US officials have blocked US veterans from reuniting with their Russian comrades in arms for the second year in a row, Antonov announced, even threatening to cancel their passports if they flew to Russia.’

Any one of these 90 year old vets would be worth more than the politicians currently in office, Antony Blinken, neocons et al.

China retaliating against hostile states is called 'economic coercion' by G7 politicians, think tanks and media. A whole definition applied to one state in an attempt of double speak and grand hypocrisy. The US and allies sanctioning countries to death is defined as 'export controls' and 'defending national security'.

must issue a correction. they were like $100 ahead on paper GDP per capita, as meaningless as trying to compare Congo with Central African Republic. Otherwise on every physical development indicator, they were behind in 1980 and just fell further behind.

As your numbers show, India is about 20-30 years behind China in terms of development. However, the real problem for India is that it's not growing like China was 30 years ago. Double digit growth doesn't happen in India and they've grown very little compared to 2019, before the pandemic. So China keeps extending its lead. Of course that may change if India finds a new growth model.

Its at best meaningless and usually purposefully misleading to compare India to China of XXXX year, because the reason it is almost always done is to imply that India will become the new China in XX years.

But the reality is that much of India’s nominal GDP growth is meaningless paper growth, or outright deliberate manipulation as exemplified by India changing how it calculated GDP a few years back to yield a massive GDP boost. Strip out inflation, the China driven global basic commodity price hikes of recent decades and massive reductions in price of manufactured goods due to China, and India’s GDP and standards of living growth is going to be pitiful, because they have not really changed how the overwhelming majority of their economy and citizens work for decades. Just look at how Russia was forced to scrap its local currency oil deal with India almost immediately because they just ended up with piles of Rupees and nothing worthwhile to buy with them from India.

So long as India thinks superpower status and greatness is a birthright that doesn’t require any actual hard work to earn, they will forever be the nation of massive potential and minimal impact.

To bet on India ever even approaching China’s accomplishments without a fundamental cultural revolution in India and decades of sustained reforms and hard work is like comparing a world MMA champion with some couch potato who’s idea of training for the MMA is look up YouTube videos of martial arts styles, decided they are most suited to the Drunken Fist style, and then just became a raging alcoholic who ‘trained’ every day by just getting totally wasted while listening to motivational audiotapes.

This is textbook fascism: intimidation of political dissidents using stste power. In the past, it was called tyranny. In current year, it’s called ”rules based world order“.
