Chinese data is unreliable no. China's schrodinger. One day unreliable and the other day a billion worth trove of information. They should not let Anglophone think tanks and other destructive shit access those databases to use it for malign purposes.

Those due diligence companies also enforce western laws in our jurisdiction by controlling if parties comply to 'export controls' and other economic warfare coming out of Washington dc, Brussels and London. Part of long arm jurisdiction and lawfare.

How do we call this these days? Economic coercion, free market capitalism or national security concerns?

all Chinese employees of these foreign corporate spy agencies should be blacklisted as collaborators and banned from any employment where they could ever access Chinese IP or data, unless they cooperate fully with law enforcement.

Schrodinger's China

China is simultaneously powerful enough to challenge western hegemony and weak enough to be on the verge of perpetual collapse.
China is simultaneously a developed country that shouldn't receive preferable treatment from the WTO and a developing country that will not escape the middle income trap.

The Western consulting companies are definitely part of the Western intelligence community. Think tanks and other policy makers rely on them for information on China. They really should be completely banned.

Consulting companies, law firms, auditing firms, media organisations, along with the embassy and consulates are all part of their intelligence gathering operation. Glad to see a crackdown on these spies. Long overdue.

Ultimately, if Beijing cracks down too hard there could be a chilling effect on foreign investment. “It’s hard to attract capital if you can’t get a report from a global due diligence firm,” said one international services executive.
That could run counter to the government’s efforts to revive animal spirits in China’s economy, consultants and investors said.
sorry pal, but you’re just not as important as you think you are.
The western public needs and demands market Intel on China and needs in on the Chinese market. You really think China won’t hesitate kicking out an arrogant western investor if they get too big for their britches?
In fact, it leads me to believe that china allowed Goldman sachs access to the Chinese market so they could execute a few Goldman Sach bankers to demonstrate that western financiers don’t hold sway the way they think they do in the west.

You have changed, Chang.
Shouldn't china just keep crashing?
