I watched the French interview. Really taken out of context.

My French is “trop mal” at best, but he specifically talks about the history of Crimea and how it was a simply made a part of Ukraine SSR by Khrushchev.

He says there was no official accord to determine the status (borders) of these countries. This is factually correct. Many conflicts have been fought over the territory of ex-Soviet republics, Chechnya, Dagestan, Nargono-Karabakh (twice), South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Transnistria, etc.

These territories continue to be disputed as a legacy of the hasty disintegration of the USSR.

This might be a new experiment in China's evolving diplomacy. Have a diplomatic "misspeak" or "oversight" to signal to countries they need to get their game together and stop taking China for granted. I feel like this was also what they did to Iran, when they "accidentally" signed the GCC statement. The Iranian were stunned and it re-galvanized China-Iran relations.

This was the same ambassador from China who was posted to Canada.

When Meng Wanzhou was arrested, eventually ambassodor Lu Shaye who was livid, he had enough.

He publicly said that this was a case of white supremacy. People in Canada were simply shocked!

This was great! Finally someone spoke the darn frigging truth.

So what happened next, Lu Shaye got transfer to be ambassador to France, in other words he got promoted.

It does not matter what he said exactly, whether he was misquoted or not, all that matters if the verbal attacks hit.

Apparently they did.

Absolutely wonderful!

again, why don’t the anglos use that Washington consensus and freedom to innovate better tech to beat China?

Even their pet Asians can’t compete against China.

All the US has to do is surrender the trade war in a journey to

Hilarious.

The problem is the Chinese belief that they can separate the EU from the US, which they largely cannot. See, Chinese strategists think in terms of rational interests, believing others to be like themselves in wanting to advance their position in the great game. They think the problem is the US, and only the US, when in fact, it hasn't played out that way.

...

Since China's modern values are fundamentally incompatible with that of the West's, there's not much to realized, ultimately, in courting Europeans.
You're right about them projecting their own thought process/culture onto others. It's one of the biggest problems with China.

The central problem is race/racism. It has nothing to do with values.

human rights - us/eu are genocidal mass murders and serial rapists who impoverish people through the imf/world bank debt traps vs China respects human rights and tries to give people a better life with BRI.
freedom - see above. no freedom when you're military occupied or dead or starving because of white neo-colonizers
democracy - us/eu has oligarchy disguised as a democracy vs people's democracy
free press - both have high levels of censorship
free speech - us/eu has more but the difference isn't that big.
religious freedom - same
property rights - us/eu steals lands, steals people, steals national treasures, steals gold, steals foreign reserves, steals your assets, steals ip (toshiba, alstom, tried to with Tiktok), steals by exporting inflation so even your savings or not safe vs actually respects property rights
rule of law - endless white police brutality, lie to invade nations, have law called the Hague Invasion act to prevent international law from bringing justice, crippled the WTO because they're losing vs actual rule of law

If it's really about "western" values they would abandon each other and partner up with China, but they won't because they are a gang of sadistic white racists who will never change. They've had 500 years to change, but every one of them with power choose the path of racist genocidal evil every time.

The Chinese and Singaporean navies will hold a joint exercise in Singapore in accordance with a consensus reached between the two countries, China's Defense Ministry announced on Monday.

The ministry did not say exactly when the exercise will be held but said forces from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy will stay in Singapore from late April till early May, during which time they will also participate in the IMDEX Asia, Asia's leading naval and maritime defense event, which is slated to take place on May 3-5 in Singapore.

They didn't say anything doesn't mean they didn't care
They gotta develop some thick skin and STFU. This is nothing compared to the rabid anti-China onslaught that China has had to endure since forever but increasingly since that orange buffoon Trump came along. Going forward, the world gotta get used to an assertive China. They gotta choose whether to keep their heads over their shoulders and navigate their countries towards pragmatic cooperation with China that delivers actual benefits to their economy and living standards or taking offense over casual remarks of notable Chinese dignitaries. These same countries don't have a problem when some ignoramus American politician labels their countries as shitholes (which some of them honestly are) but have the gall to take an offense over one generalised remark by a Chinese ambassador?
Either STFU and deal with it or end up throwing a fit like giant cry baby India and suffer economic consequences.
