I think the ACLU will try to sue since Americans are allowed to read foreign news, books, entertainment sources as it allows the pieces needed to have freedom of speech. No point of freedom of speech if you can only source from govt approve sources.

I also believe TikTok should leave the US instead of selling. Screws the foreign investors and shows that the US is authoritarian lite in disguise.

I mean, I’ve never understood Chinese who are dumb enough to believe that Europeans wouldn’t side with the US over China, all else being equal, when racially, culturally, and politically they are basically the same community. I hope recent events have been a wake up call for the “global citizens” in China, in this regard.

But of course, that’s assuming “all else being equal”; Europeans have made themselves so lazy and dependent that they’ll choose sides only as a last resort, since Europe, contrary to the US and other colonies, isn’t really capable of securing its own prosperity any more.

The rest of the world ex-China uses Tiktok too. If the Americans control Tiktok, they also control the platform for the rest of the world. This is about their imperialism. Facebook and Instagram are less relevant to the youths than Tiktok. It's not enough for them to just control FB and Insta. They want maximum control of all people so that they can propagandize the fuck out of them.
