You mean the class I railways? Why would the FBI investigate them? After all, there is no law stopping company from making the profit number go up. Also what's there to investigate when they are practically sabotaging themselves? After all, the whole point of Presicision Scheduled Railroading (which, despite the name, is neither precise, nor scheduled, and it's not really railroading) is to cram as much sh*t onto as little infrastructures as possible.1700 derailments a year? What the actual fuck? Has the FBI looked into the company that repairs and replaces all the damaged and destroyed rolling-stock from all these derailments? Because I can see 1700 motives per year for them to want to actively sabotage US rail infrastructure.
I don't know if you know or remember about the railroad worker that almost happened a few months ago, but the class Is do not care about anything other than quarterly profit. It's basically that meme with Lord Farquaad, where the infrastructures might be falling apart and the workers are made to work arbitrary hours, but that's a sacrifice the people owning the class Is (aka various financial institutions) are willing to make.
