The Chinese Defense Ministry on Sunday protested against the US' move to shoot down a Chinese civilian unmanned airship which made an unintended entry into the US airspace due to force majeure. Experts said that US' reaction could escalate tensions between the two countries' militaries.

The US' attack on Chinese civilian unmanned airship by force is an obvious overreaction, Senior Colonel Tan Kefei, a spokesperson at China's Ministry of National Defense, said in a statement on Sunday.

Tan's remark means that if a foreign airship accidentally enters the Chinese airspace, the Chinese forces could also shoot it down in a similar manner, and the US move will significantly impact the two countries' military-to-military relations, observers said.

This event has been mostly manufactured political theater to serve Republican interests. Like I said, bashing China has become a political strategy now that 90% of Americans hate China. What they doesn't realize is that once the fires are started, they can't be put out; we're walking into World War 3 whether we like it or not.

Rubio knows how embarrassing it looks how big of a deal the US made of this balloon which ended up with the US using its most expensive toy to counter China's cheap toy but then that's what Republicans pushed because they're the ones making a big deal over a balloon. If this happened before, why didn't they make a big deal about it then?

So I guess Rubio, Senate head of intelligence with close links to the CIA, finally got word from the Pentagon that "it was a weather balloon" and is now trying to change the narrative. The spin that China sent a balloon to test the US is just funny.
