Yes, the one John Mearsheimer told a large Aussie crowd the pitfall of being an American vassal, the funny part is the reaction of the audience there is an audible gasp hahaha, they were shock, they thought they will be treated equally with a voice. I'm not in Australia so I don't know the nuisances of politics over there because I look at Morrison's whining about being forced to choose a side as an offense. Is he as dumb as the media makes him and this is a democracy where people voted for someone like this...? China isn't forcing him to choose a side so is he blaming therefore using China to lessen the blame on the US so Americans don't get mad at him? Making that kind of statement China should make Australia suffer longer.

China does not produce near enough iron ore for her consumption though, I wouldn't say it's "everywhere". Only country which produces nearly as much is Brazil, which produces half Australian output.

Morrison made those comments when he was receiving "the Grotius Prize for his work in support of the international rules-based order." this is a prize created for those who have contributed to the rule of the west. we may expect leaders from japan and sigapore to receive the prize later.

Sooner or later China would come to the table but only when the USA is out of the way and also any deals with Australia will done to China's advantage, not Australia's and with additional security in case Australia is stupid enough to repeat there mistakes. China is always in the market to make money and are quite forgiving (I mean they can easily avenge Nanjing 100x over if that what they want but give credit to the restraint shown) but that doesn't mean they forget at all and are always looking for the new opportunity (given Victoria's membership in the Belt and road being something that China is willing to help defend on Victoria's behalf showing that there is something there) provided there is minimal risk. However, China must be ready to punish those who are stupid enough to think that anyone can try to interfere with China's business and given that the ICC is now lead by a Chinese person and the very war crimes of Australia's actions in Afghanistan would be an interesting opportunity to put Australia in there place on an international scale (Australia is a member and given the severity of the sins done is Afghanistan could end up there) and also help to turn the world against the west even more by pointing out the very really human rights abuses carried out by the 5eyes unlike China's which is by and large imagined up by the western media to make themselves look good in comparison. Scott Morrison is going to be used as a sacrificial lamb one day when the time is right, and given that he has made mistake after mistake, the time will come sooner or later.
