So, apparently after being defeated by the Communists on the mainland and forced to retreat to Taiwan, Chiang and his Nationalist army prepared an extremely audacious plan to not just reconquer mainland China, but to extend the original claimed ROC territories far beyond what the ROC is actually claiming to this day.
I suppose this map was drawn up after 1 November 1952, when the Korean War was still in progress and the US had just tested the first hydrogen bomb (Ivy Mike).
The progress is as follows:
1. Let the United Nations Command military finish the war in Korea (by defeating the DPRK);
2. Using Taiwan as an anti-Soviet and anti-CCP operational base, the Nationalists would invade mainland China along the Chinese coastline before marching inwards;
3. The UN Command military would also invade the USSR from the east along its Pacific coastline through Allied-occupied Japan and Korea, and from the southwest through the Black Sea;
4. After taking over all of mainland China and Mongolia, the capital would be relocated to Nanjing;
5. The military of the Nationalists and UN Command would continue invading through the USSR interior all the way to the Arkhangelsk–Astrakhan line (A-A line, set up as the military goal of Operation Barbarossa, i.e. German invasion of the USSR in 1941);
6. The US would then drop atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb onto Moscow, forcing the USSR to capitulate;
Finally, the Nationalists would integrate the territories of the former USSR into China, i.e. Central Asia becomes Yong'an Province, Ural mountain ranges becomes Yongning Province, Siberia becomes Zhongyu Province, and Far East Russia becomes Taiping Province. The remainder of the USSR would then be left under UN Trusteeship (lol).
Sounds great for a Hearts of Iron 4 scenario, but the Soviets just got their nukes in 1949, and the USSR manpower is second-to-none on the Eurasian continent at that time. Realistically speaking? More like Chiang's daydream, lmfao.
