The US led order (and the US itself) is collapsing further into the abyss by the day.

Honestly expected to only see this play out far more gradually after 2040s but wow.

In Japan, multiple economic hydrogen bombs have gone off already. Economic lag but obvious enough to all those in the know. Japan is over. How they will militarise in the coming great war we shall see but one thing is certain, Japan will be pushed to militarise (not just allowed to) by the US and the encouragement for US allies to militarise and wage war on China is something the US itself will commit to. I see Japan falling further than Germany in coming years despite economic hype over Germany's demise being exaggerated atm due to European war. Japan's metrics are that of a dead economy about to face several economic tsunamis. No idea how Japan would weather this but certainly they won't be reporting it. It'll just be 5% homeless and suicidal to 20% homeless and suicidal in Japan when the fallout hits. Few if any reports in western mainstream media will show it but people who have traveled to Japan frequently can see the tent cities go from one or two streets into entire suburbs from 1990s to 2010s. To be an ally of the US sure is fatal thanks for being honest there Kissinger.

The Chinese leadership continues to avoid the mRNA vaccine - I don't believe the avoidance is the result of carelessness.
Inactivated vaccines overall work better, both in ensuring longer term immunity and at initial effectiveness.

They do have drawbacks, mainly that it takes longer to roll out on average and is harder to "update" with boosters.

I think the Chinese medical community do not believe a vaccine is a "finished product" if it takes 5+ boosters and some still get symptomatic disease.

You know what i always wondered, does the u.s really have control over japan to the extent that it can orders it to commit harakiri literally? say for example japan joins the u.s in war against China over taiwan, those american and japanese bases in japan will be hit and if the u.s uses nukes against China (God forbid) those bases in japan will be up in radioactive smoke too (probably even its major cities) in retaliation, does self preservation means anything to them?

And since Japan's decline starting with Asian Tiger economies crash in the 1990s and Japan's Plaza Accord with the US (a microcosm of how the US stifled Japan but it's also helped Japan rebuild too so I suppose that balances out somewhat), Japan has still enjoyed immense trade and industrial dominance in various fields. They always did decently enough during those now three decades. The thing is, now Japan's social decline is coinciding with all the other issues. They no longer enjoy the same levels of export success and industrial dominance in the few fields they did.

We'll see whether they can find their spine and their brain. As things stand they are firmly liberal, part of the "mUh dEMocRaseee" and fervently dislike China for many reasons (some fear and distrust is well founded or at the very least, understandable). The thing is they do not believe they are at risk. When you don't understand the situation accurately, you cannot be trusted to make those rational decisions. So to answer your question, they would be thinking "what nukes? what threats?". Decision makers may know a bit better but we'll see how firmly in US pockets they really are.
