Also, they have used the human rights card so much and also given the lack of human rights in the USA, I feel people have started to care less and less about human rights in general, thanks to America's hypocrisy about it, it is hard to take it seriously anymore. Hence, really, what givens any nation the right to parrot this crap when they are not so clean themselves.
Thanks to people like Pompeo, when normally I would be appalled, I have much more difficulty now actually taking these things seriously anymore. The day that Pompeo gets it, will be a day what will be celebrated as a day that human rights has been truly upheld since he keeps on going on and on about human rights when he hasn't taken even a remote look at a mirror lately (and no I am not taking about his obvious gain in weight.

All you need to do is study history of US , how it came to be, and what it is really trying to do.
Who told him isn't really the question. Why they are so dearly focused on that region is. Their Tibet whining isn't really going to go nowhere. They aren't going to get any WW2 level "allies" who are going to give their shoulder for US in SCS, it's that one region that has potential to hurt China.
China should be really careful keeping mum about this particular issue. It doesn't matter what China says about what's going on there, what is shown are sold.
