In a couple months, the cashier is probably going to have to remove 20-50 security tags on everyone’s grocery trip.
They should try the Chinese Mobile stores system where customers must swipe a valid credit cards or devices to get into the store and whatever they took out are
electronically debited into their accounts. Works like a large scale vending machine. No human interactions are required.

Sorry, I have to disagree. If an earthquake is strong enough to collapse a modern building designed to survive an earthquake, running around during an earthquake isn't going to safe your life, unless you're The Flash and can outrun a collapsing building. Taking cover under a table can improve your chance of surviving the initial collapse as you are less likely to get crushed (granted if a load bearing concrete crossbeam falls directly above your table, then yes you will be crushed for sure and die). Also, most building structure can survive the initial shaking but not interior fittings that can be heavy enough to kill you, so falling objects are a real hazard regardless of the structural strength and magnitude of an earthquake.

The really big earthquakes either hit immediately, in which case you won’t have the option of doing anything other than fall down and stay down; or you will get some forewarning in the form of minor precursor shakes.

In areas where monster quakes can happen, it makes sense to get out of buildings asap whenever you get minor tremors just in case that’s the forewarning to a really bad one.

TV show offers paying energy bills as prize

A British breakfast-time TV show has added paying energy bills for four months to its list of prizes in a call-in game, leaving many of its viewers stunned.

The changes to the ‘Spin to Win’ game on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ in which the host spins a wheel to choose a cash prize for the player calling on the phone, started on Monday.

“This week, we've got our usual cash prizes, but you can also win some extra cash to pay your energy bills until the end of the year. That’s four months of energy bills totally taken care of,” the show’s host Phillip Schofield said on air.

Reminds me of that thing called the “Hunger Games.”
