It’s just fascinating to see so many people living in a 'democracy' doesn't knows how democracy is supposed to work. It's absolutely true that in the US you can complain and raise concerns more freely than in China. But what really matters is whether these complains will lead to positive changes. The reality is that it doesn't in the US, because what matters now is that 1) winning elections doesn't require such positive changes and 2) there are really money being put in to prevent such changes. In the US it always 1) I failed because of the previous administration by the other party or the current congress holding me back 2) I object everything the other party does but I would do it when I am in power 3) it’s other countries' fault that the US has problems.
In China's one party system, the CCP 1) can't blame anyone else but itself for failures, and 2) has to solve actual problems to stay in power.
I don't mean to say one party system is better than multiparty democracy. What I am saying is that China's current one party system is outperforming the US' current multiparty system, especially in delivering a better life for the people.
Ultimately, it's the quality of the people that really matters in how a country and its political system functions. But I think multi-party system is more susceptible to people's idiotic impulses. And in the US, there are huge vested interests to dumb down its people. There is no easy fix.
