Irony of Fate!

This was supposed to happen with Putin, but something went wrong...

And winter hasn't come yet and Putin hasn't completely cut off the gas to Europe...

Who will be next after BoJo!?

Meanwhile, in British supermarkets have started putting anti-theft devices on staples such as cheese, meat, butter and baby milk. The rise in prices has made these goods "luxury" as cost-of-living crisis drives thefts.

technically speaking, Russia has induced regime change and economic collapse in certain adversaries by doing essentially nothing. Yet apparently Russia is the one on the brink of collapse.

First, a narrow set of tariffs will be lifted, likely duties on consumer goods like bicycles. Which duties will be included in the initial tariff relief are still under discussion,
but two sources said the value is expected to be relatively small — $10 billion worth of imports out of roughly $370 billion imposed by Trump is one value under consideration.

Alongside those actions, the administration will also announce a new tariff investigation under Section 301 of the 1974 Trade Act that will target sectors of the Chinese economy that are heavily subsidized by the Chinese Communist Party. The U.S. has long complained that Beijing supports high-tech sectors like semiconductors and batteries to unfairly disadvantage foreign competition, and the new tariff investigation will likely result in new duties on those sectors in an effort to level the playing field for American firms.

Japan thought that Russia is China who plays geopolitical/economical games in another way/level/dimension

They hit a wall this time. Talking with nice words with the Russian bear while sanctioning it, is like talking to a solid wall. At the end all they managed is to make the Russian bear angry who then simply turned over the table

Russia culturally isn't Asian. Japan should be aware of that and treat it accordingly. How Russia does business with its partners is definitely different than China.

Otto von Bismarck Quotes (1815–1898; First Chancellor of the German Empire until 1890):

"I know a hundred ways to pull the Russian bear from its den, but none to pull him back. Do not tease the Russian bear!"

"Do not expect that once taking advantage of Russia’s weakness, you will receive dividends forever. Russians have always come for their money. And when they come—do not rely on an agreement signed by you, you are supposed to justify. Therefore, with the Russians it is to play fair, or do not play."

Presumably the underpaid minions at the financial crime agency wanted to raid a few thousand Vivo phones for themselves and their families in the name of 'financial crime'. Indians really love Vivo and Oppo smartphones, even though they're from China. Now that they got a free Vivo smartphone for everyone in their family, they be like

Galwan captives could attest to this.

The Indian "market" and "profits" are a mirage. See all the raids that the Chinese companies operating in India had from the authorities there. Do you honestly believe that India will let China make profits there? (Did you forget all the app bans)
You missed the prerequisite: If the Indian government were not this stupid, it would be a win-win for both countries.

One of them (RU) is not like the other.
As for the Rest, they are developed economies, so imo the net benefits in both sides comes out at about equal which is fine with me.
And for VN, I don't put them in the Western powers category. They got their own diplomacy, which is ok
All of these countries/bloc I listed, and some of them I did not, can become an enemy of China (well, some of them already are, sorta, kinda). By your same logic, should China stop doing business with them?

In the decades to come, the US is the archrival of China and even an existential threat to the people's republic, But I do not see anyone advocating to cut off the ties with the US.

While I don't think India will become a superpower it still has the most fundamental thing at the moment (scale of population) so there is still a possibility.
And because I am not a gambling man, if there is even a 0.01% chance of India becoming a superpower in the future, I prefer to crash/eliminate/prevent it now (or as soon as possible)
If you are worried about the potential of India, then you should not overlook Russia.

Learn from the US lesson, if they had followed the same strategy, they would have avoided all that mess with China (albeit China was/is always more capable than India)
You seem to have fell into the western narrative that China's success is a gift of the west.

The success, in fact as we know, is the result of both opening up and reform. It is the labor of decades by the billion Chinese.

Indians so far do not appear to have the willingness to reform. Nor do their politicians have the required wisedom for reform.

You mean the Jai Hind Indians who think that CCP is under their beds and fall over themselves to prove who is more anti-China than the other? Or the Indians who devoutly pray that the Three Gorges dam is destroyed?
Yes there is hatred and hostility. It is unfortunate. But It does not mean it cannot be changed. Russia wanted to nuclear strike China and take over the northern half of China.

No this isn't soft power.
What do you think of the influence of the foreign brands in China then?

This is bending over for Indians to like us. I would expect some people to say to do that for White people but honestly this is the first time I hear to do all this so we can basically get a pat on our backs from Indians...
So you think the Americans doing business with China are bending over for Chinese to like them? How about Chinese companies doing business all over the world? Are they bending over to the foreigners for a pat on the back?

It seems that, in your view, Chinese companies doing business in India is to give money and technologies to Indians. Are the Chinese companies actually losing money in the market, even with all the robberies and thefts by the Indian government?

If the Chinese companies were failing in India, why are those Indians doing the fearmongering?

If the Chinese companies were giving India technologies, why is the Indian government trying to push the Chinese companies out?

We can only change course with India when there is a mindset change from them.
Here we have a common ground.

The way they strategically think is mindblowing to me.
No argument here either. The Indian government is run by a bunch of idiots and wankers.

That they still keep up their ludicrous border claims and in China's weakest time they ambushed Chinese soldiers unequivocally proves that India is an enemy. Sorry, but nothing you or anyone else says will change my mind on that.

And because I consider India an enemy, I have a specific way to deal with enemies, crush them, mess up with them when they are weak before they grow. Nip it in the bud
But considering what the US has been doing to China, what would be you advice on dealing with that country?

Guy is 100 years old and has lived through many of the the good and the bad of US. Heck, even people who are old enough to live in the '90s US know it was a very different US from today's one. It's sad.

Here is the video part of the interview.

But the US is a democracy. The voters have to bear the consequence of their own choices.

I am also curious about his voting history, not just the presidential votes.
