It's called it didn't work. CNN interrupted programming to show Biden's announcement to make people believe it was important when all it did was re-announce vaccine pledges that Biden already has failed to meet previously. When he got to specifics all you hear is how American companies will be getting contracts to help the world turn away from China. Again everything the West does costs more to do.
If you guys have not done it already, I suggest changing your doors and windows to ones with better thermal insulation. Double glazed windows, and higher insulation rating modern outer doors. And insulate your roof as well. I did it a couple years ago before this whole shebang started and it makes a huge difference. If you live in a place with heavy snowfall and subzero temperatures you might want to consider triple glazed windows even.
Better insulation will save you on heating in winter and on air conditioning in summer time.
Also, if you have an old refrigerator or air conditioner unit, say like 20 years old or more, buy a new one. The difference in energy efficiency is way, way, out of the scale.
I would also advise inviting a few North African and Middle East refugees into your home during winter. Having a few extra bodies keeps the home warmer during cold weather.
Promises, promises.
One year ago in June 2021, the G7 announced with a lot of fanfare the Build Back Better World. Nothing much happened since.
Now exactly one year later, the G7 has a new program called Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment. And the money is still not there.
Look forward to see another new program at the next G7 meeting in 2023.
Oh, by the way, what ever happened to the 1B doses of Covid-19 vaccine to be donated to SE Asia by the end of 2022 ?
