The Western economic system was built on the idea they would be in control of everything through colonialism. That's why their labor can't handle something like outsourcing. It's like how they can't allow China to be an alternative system for the world. China can't be an alternative place for the world to invest their money because if it's in China or any other place, they're not making the money from it.
Normally when Western countries go into a recession, it would take two to three years for a recovery to happen. The 2008 Western Financial Crisis took longer. Why? Normally during a recession money just moved circulating from one part of the system to another. China was the firewall of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. China was hardly affected by the 2008 Western Crisis. Today so far inflation in China is not as bad as it's hitting the West. China is seen as a safe haven for people's money hence why FDI into China is in the positive. It means that money is not circulating in the West to help in their recovery. They always expect to be the one gaining not the one losing in a relationship but they think it's nothing to be mad over when they're the ones that gain while others are losing. Most of China's neighbors have a trade surplus in their favor with China meaning they're making more money in trade than China is making from them hence why China is most of Asia's number one trading partner and not the US. Do you see China complaining about trade deficits with all these countries? It's the West that thinks they have to be the gaining while everyone else is losing in everything or else they've been wronged and that kind of relationship only comes from colonialism.
Contrary to what the West believes, they need the world more than the world needs them. Do you see any Chinese thinking like the West does where they don't need the rest of the world. No. China knows they need resources they don't have that others around the world possesses that the West has to have themselves to keep their economic and technological engines going.
What does the West have that others yearn for? Everything that doesn't give anything in return except in the mind. Look at Asians that delude themselves thinking they're white. No one sees them as white even whites. Why would they give up something that they exclusively have and you value so much that they will do anything in hopes of getting it hence they won't give it up because then you won't be doing anything they want once you have it. Only people that are dumber and value the same things will be fooled into thinking you're white and they're not. Westerners always point to their popular culture as powerful. Yeah that's only if you value it hence why it's so important for the West to get everyone in the world to embrace Western culture and values because they're in control of those things that no one else has. Other things like technology... they broke the trust by using it as a weapon in order to force surrender in their demands and now China is developing their own and the West is in panic for their future.
A world that doesn't need the West is more of a reality than the other way around. You don't need to wage war to achieve it. That's what so amazing about it. It doesn't force anyone against their will and individual rights. The people who are worried about not getting Western things they see of value would actually be in an easier position to get them because the West would not be a position of strength. That's how you slay a God.
The comment is wrong really. The collapse in Western imports is higher. Compare the bars for March of all years on that chart. Trade can be seasonal. And trade to the other "neutrals" bar, which includes China, is being hampered by the SWIFT and transportation sanctions. The largest shipping companies in the world, including Maersk and CMA CGM, stopped doing Russian transport. So, for example, Russia could not import tea and coffee from Kenya because of the sanctions. Although Kenya is not sanctioning trade with Russia. It will take time to see alternate payment systems be setup and different shipping companies being hired.
So far Russia has not retaliated to the shipping ban. But this is something they might apply counter sanctions if they want to in the future. For example they might block these companies from getting their shipping containers back, and ban transit of Western nations through the Northeast Passage. Also guess what, most of the sailors in European trade routes are Russians. If Russia blocks Russians from working for these shipping companies, they would have to substitute all that staff, would make UK trucker issue after Brexit look like a picnic.

Why would Russian major trading partners disclose their trading numbers and expose themselves to the western sanctions.
