The third EU-US council meeting about China and ''Indo''-Pacific (read Asia Pacific) between Stefano Sannino and Wendy Sherman was last week. They discussed China's economic model (which is unfair because does not fully implement neoliberalism and muh free market; they have the intention to mold our economic model to their prefered taste which is rules based and fair), maritime security in the Indo-Pacific, how to engage with other Asian countries, how to secure western hegemony (build the world we want) and more.

Why do I feel like the whiff of desperation from US and her client states in EU, Aus, Japan is getting stronger? Soon it will be a stench.

note that all this time, Aus is so subservient that media and gov here have not said anything about Assange while continuously bigging up the Solomon Islands make believe china threat.

Assange an Australian citizen about to be extradited from UK, being persecuted by American authorities for revealing actual war crimes. Someone CIA previously targeted for assassination.

"Von der Leyen is also expected to discuss the resumption of talks on a free trade agreement between the bloc and India, according to Reuters."

Good luck with that. Two blocks with massive farming lobbies. And pharmaceutical lobbies.

There are a whole host of Western leaders reaching out to India right now to see what alternatives we can provide,

Like what? Energy? Remember India has massive requirement for all kinds of energy from oil, to gas, to coal, to nuclear. They don't even have uranium. Guess who is one of the main suppliers of all those commodities. And building nuclear power plants in Indian soil right now.

"Johnson, among other things, pledged that Britain would support India in creating its own fighter jets. He also promised to issue an India-specific open general export license to reduce delivery times for defense items destined for India."

More money for the MIC. In the past the UK was less than receptive. Existing Indian fighter projects most of them are already deep in design and a change to, say, the Eurofighter EJ200 engine, would probably not be easy to do. And EJ200 was a multi-national engine. So you probably need to get the cooperation of all the partner nations. I think they are better off continuing to work with the French to be honest.

Nothing the West can offer will change India stance.

Malcolm Nance has been itching to join the war against Russia in Ukraine. While I don't find this action of his to be noble or even laudable, he's at least putting his own skin on the line or wall. I just don't know what kind of difference he's going to be able to make against Russia. He's either drank the American mythos a little too much, sprinkled with Rambo stuff or he's one of them military dudes who didn't get to see any "real action" while on active duty. My hunch is that this dude is looking to sell another book, and use this episode as his platform for a political office for the "Dems with balls" if he comes out of this stunt in one piece.
