The revolutionary guards would deserve the nobel peace prize compared to all branches of the united states military, which in all fairness if it wasn't for its massive extermination abilities against innocent civilians, should be justifiably put down like a rabid dog on the spot.
At least in the states, it can become a nice flexible job especially if you have seniority. You pick days/hours and flights that you want to work. Can travel all around potentially with free layovers.

Until today, Chinese civilian airlines under CAAC had operated 4226 days in a row without (major) accident. This counter stopped at 4227.

According to this ADS-B flight altitude chart from FR24, he thinks the pilot crew were still trying to save the airplane from crash in the last minute.
Because this flight had 3 pilots/engineers and 6 flight attendants/security guards on board, he thinks it's very unlikely one of the crew could have locked all others out of the cockpit and taken the airplane down.
