If China didn't know about invasion, it's bad. If China know about invasion, it's bad. No matter what China does, China is bad. This is from an "China Expert" from US think tank btw. The West is so desperate to rope China in, even China didn't do jack shit so far.
Well, watch this most recent talk/discussion held by CSIS where Bonny Lin works and you'll get the ideas and arguments with respect to this particular issue.

After much discussion, we are re-opening the Ukraine Conflict thread. All previous rules are still in place, that means:

1. absolutely no discussion of potential China/Taiwan conflict (militarily, politically, anything!)

2. no attacking other members, no matter how their opinions may differ from you (no slurs, name calling, etc.)
3. no one-liner posts
4. no single Twitter/Reddit posts, in fact we highly recommend not to use Twitter/Reddit as your source of information
*The above are immediately ban-able offenses!

5. keep the Ukraine conflict discussion to that thread -
that means don't flood the World News thread!
6. posting a link to anything (news sites, official announcements, etc.) must be accompanied by some sort of analysis allowing for further discussion
7. if you all you want is to call out another member, but have nothing useful to bring forward to continue the discussion, then don't do it
8. call out inappropriate behaviour, not difference in opinion

9. if you see a troll post, the right thing to do is to IGNORE it!

We hope this thread will be used to provide useful updates on what is happening, staying away from obvious propaganda and mis-information.

Interesting discussion on weibo regarding the list goods and services that will be unavailable to Chinese in mainland if the sanctions on Russia will be used against China someday in future. Which will be hard to give up and which not so much lol.
Can you post a weibo link? The image is too pixelated for me to find the source. I am very interested in this list.

Sitrep: Germany: After 73 Years of US Occupation, Not Much To Work With How Washington Afflicted The Germans

By Thorsten J. Pattberg - 02 MAR 2022

“Biden Imposes Sanctions on Nord Stream 2” –The Hill
“Pentagon sending 7,000 more troops to Germany” –Politico
“Germany’s own forces more or less blank” –Tagesspiegel

BERLIN. After the GERMAN REICH was DEFEATED in WORLD WAR TWO in 1949, its borders were REDRAWN, some territories went to FRANCE and POLAND, and AUSTRIA was completely separated.

The core German territory, however, was split into two halves.

The smaller half, located to the east and including the capital city, Berlin, became East Germany; and the Soviet Union installed a puppet regime, called the GDR or German Democratic Republic.

The larger half was known as Trizone and split among the victorious Western powers, so it became West Germany. The British, the French and the Americans also installed a puppet regime, called the BRD or Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

In 1991, the Soviet Union dissolved and set East Germany free. The GRD lost its purpose, and the Germans sought unification.

However, America had no intention to set West Germany free. Washington emboldened the BRD regime to annex East Germany.

History is a great writer who avoids US Guantanamo Bay detention camps. So, the official story line was that of Wiedervereinigung – reunification. It was not a reunification though. It was a take-over.

A very good, informative though very concise reading, 5~10 minutes effort to understand the modern-day Germany -- most people won't have such understanding incl. myself prior to reading this article. It helps me to understand several key issues there such as the CAI, Nord Stream 2, media control there, static amount of population over nearly 80 years, state of military and so forth!
Remember when the USSR offered to join NATO, and all that it asked was a reunified and neutral Germany?

The document below is a translation of V. M. Molotov’s proposal to the Soviet Presidium in March 1954 that the USSR should issue a diplomatic note to the Western powers stating its willingness to consider joining NATO. The background to Molotov's memorandum was the launch of the Soviet campaign for European collective security at the Berlin Conference of Foreign Ministers in February 1954. At that conference Molotov proposed the Soviet alternative to western plans for a European Defense Community (EDC) involving the participation of a rearmed West Germany—the conclusion of a pan-European collective security treaty. This proposal was linked in tum to a further set of Soviet proposals on the German question, including Germany's reunification and neutralization in the cold war.

But the West were like: "Nooo we wanna keep Germany split and plunge the whole world into decades of Cold War that teeters on nuclear Armageddon. Yes, we prefer it that way."

And thus, the allied nations in the West founded the mighty NATO to counter Soviet aggression and their Red Menace to the much-vaunted Western freedoms and democratic values. Did the Reds cower in fear? Nay! For it had only made the Soviets even more aggressive! And from the vast Eurasian steppes, the Warsaw Pact was born. How will the story go? Nobody knooows...

Dude, it's very simple, it's called POLITICS. Are you this naive to think or even believe that by 1949 the U.S. wouldn't have been able to essentially stopped ROC from gaining the permanent UN seat if it wanted to since the formulation of the UN and it's Founding charter were created by the FDR and his wife, Eleanor Roosevelt. By the end of WWII the U.S. was the undisputed KING in military and economic power, half of the world's GDP was produced by the U.S. which is also why the UN is situated in NYC, USA.

When the U.S. established the relationship with the PRC in 1972 the American domestic politics didn't stop hating on Red China. And the eventual ejection of the ROC from the UN was calibrated with U.S. domestic politics in mind, as an American citizen you ought to have been more cognizant of this fact. Politics exist in everything America does. So what happened at the U.N. general Assembly can be described as a dog and pony show. So the idea that the ascension of the PRC into the UN was mainly due to the inner workings of rules and bylaws of the UN is hilarious and naive.
I'm not going to repeat what I wrote in response to others. I highly recommend reading the history of PRC ascension to UN permanent seat here. It is far more complicated than simply Sino-American reapproachment and US allowing it to happen. That is a very oversimplification of how PRC gained the permanent seat and ignores the decades of building support among UNGA members and decades of dirty tactics US employed to thwart admission until the very last minute.

Carmakers shut factories and freeze sales as invasion fallout spreads

Ten major groups, including Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Aston Martin, hit by the war in Ukraine.

BMW's German plants in Munich and Dingolfing, its MINI plant in Oxford, as well as its engine plant in Steyr, Austria, will sit idle. These are jobs that will be lost in Europe because of the war and operational restrictions due to sanctions.

Surely Chinese manufacturers will benefit from this.
