We should absolutely not abuse their precarious situation and indeed treat them with respect. There will be a day when the Russians will hopefully find greener pastures.

Also don't forget the Russians have always wanted to be part of the west and each time they get rejected. I think they will find more respect when they start looking eastwards.

Russia will not become a junior partner to China even if Russia offered, China would not accept. Trying to triple the size of the Chinese polity and expanding its borders across two continents is not something anybody in China's government would ever do. We all saw what happened to the Mongolians the last time they tried this. Look at them now.

Russia can handle its own stuff. I am talking about economic junior partner. Not of any these political things.

They will provide all (extremely) cheap resources, energy, agricultural exports to China to feed its industrial machine.

In return, Russia can rest easy while swimming in money.

After searching for proof of the ill-fated AN-225, the picture below is the only thing about it I could find. It is said the hanger is where the AN-225 is stored. The hanger is seriously destroyed but I don't see any aircraft inside. Still hope that the AN-225 is still intact?
