It is rarely talked about in mainstream media but the US Navy has very serious problems with crew fatigue, training, retention and the state of equipment. Almost all military blogs I follow that specialize on the US Navy mention this a lot. They get a lot of agreeing comments from former and current sailors too. Especially their surface force personnel spend 4-6 months every year deployed away from their families for no apparent reason. Ships do a lot of double deployments (two deployments without maintenance break in between) which wear down the equipment a lot. Their submarine force is fine though since they have 2 crews per submarine and don't conduct useless 6-month deployments without any maintenance breaks.
Really though what is the reason for the US Navy's global deployments?
AFAIK only the SSBNs are dual crewed, SSNs only have a single crew. The only country that dual crews SSNs is France I think.

Most USN deployments are a very long way from home base, hence the duration. Apart from Reagan, all CVNs are CONUS based.

250,000 Uyghurs are being killed a day!!!!!
View attachment 81773
Lol this is annoying and infuriating at the same time. I mean if we do the math, if what's being alleged here is even close to reality that means in a month there would be a total casualties of 7,500,000 Chinese Uyghurs. And why are they purposely trying to separate the population of the Chinese Uyghurs from the general population of the country? When we're already discussing the Chinese problem of dwindling demographics which obviously includes all ETHNIC GROUPS within the country. It seems that the idea of 1.4 Billion Chinese ethnic minorities are excluded in that count which is hilariously stupid and self-defeating for a country like China to do or any other nation for that matter.

It seems that the west and western leaning people have totally lost their marbles and their ability to think rationally when it comes to China or Russia. The way they think of China is cartoonish and beyond stupid.

Tbh it's remarkable we haven't heard of major incidents like this on Liaoning and Shandong with China being new to carrier ops. Am confident that'll continue with 003 now that they're no longer new.

Liaoning/Shandong don’t operate as far from port as the US carriers or operate as many hours, so there is that.

I think China will keep a close eye on how F-35C operates. It will provide invaluable lessons on how to operate the J-35 once those are ready.

There has been a few j-15 crashes the past decade, followed by the "j-15 is garbage" article in the press.

TBF, the US operates 10+ carriers with many more flight ops, so its a matter of probability of more crashes.

This is getting interesting.
Thoughts on the "surprise gift"?

Moscow constantly updates Beijing on progress in security talks between the US and Russia, even though China is not related to the talks, the Russian envoy to Beijing said on Tuesday.
The envoy also said there would be a “surprise” gift for China-Russia ties during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to the Chinese capital for the Winter Olympics next month.
“We think President Xi might have prepared a surprise for President Putin, and we don’t know what that surprise is at the moment,” he said. “But I think there will be one.”

Eh, I beg to differ. Japan managed to gain significant technological superiority over US with relatively minimal military spending...some technological superiority lasting to this day.
Japanese society is totally different. naturally it will develop what is best for itself.
Japan can accept Kei cars but Americans cant. just the weight difference impact on roads and tire life (rubber/chemical consumption)
than compare food, size of homes. etc. Japanese are savers. so much less need for global presence to attract capital. Japanese also operates in narrow fields so less need of mass immigration. infact Japan could not develop vaccine on time for Covid.
i am merely pointing out to fallacy of the esteem member of increasing welfare when minorities are majority without understanding the society. what ever peace/safety/energy/food/transportation/R&D/healthcare/bond yields is not due to welfare budget.
