Just happened that I read this Chinese blog:
This author suggests that the Chinese audience should cheer for the Russian athletes, make Beijing their home court, too. He is in particular fond of the 1956 CCCP ice hockey jersey. I agree that bright red color, and the memory it can bring to the Chinese audience, will fit the atomosphere very well.
Imagine the full house red CCCP jerseys, waves of Oorahs and Soviet-era songs when Russians are playing against Westerns.
