Yeah but didn't the Jew's lost ALL of if after the Romans conquered them? Plus the land of Palestine was a colony of the British till after WW2 they decided (without even consenting with the locals about it) to just give it to the Jewish out of sympathy from the holocaust?o_O
Actually Jewish populations remained in the city and region even after the Romans.
Populations were still there into the near modern era. Before partition and during partition that were not emigrants. They were Under Palestinian authority but that was mostly due to the Otomon occupation.

I don't think so. After the defeat of the Simon Bar Kokhbas revolt in 115-117 CE, not many Jews left in area of Jerusalem.

IMO what is pathetic is denying the Jews their historical capital. They founded the city 1500 yrs before the word Muslim was ever heard off.

By that logic, no country on Earth today is legitimate since that land belonged to someone else if you go back far enough.

And also, no one is denying anyone anything. The whole point is that the final status of Jerusalem should be decided by peaceful negotiations between the parties in dispute (Israel and the Palestinians), rather than have some 3rd party come in and unilaterally decide the matter.

I always found the principle of reciprocity as a good judge of fairness - ie, would you accept the situation if the tables were turned?

So, would the Israelis and Americans been all rainbows and unicorns had the Muslim world made a unilateral decision to recognise Palestine as a full fledged independent nation with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital and establish embassies there?

You made some interesting points which I generally go along with.
However I think we should only go as far back as recorded history and not so far back where we start delving into myths and legends.
My POV is a simplistic one. Im right behind China 120% as rega rds the China/Tibet question, Xinjiang and the SCS in which their claims involves a historical perspective so I think the morally, right thing to do for me anyway is to look at Israel and the Jerusalem question in a similar perspective.

Iran slams U.S. "interference" in internal affairs
Source: Xinhua| 2017-12-30 23:01:44|Editor: Mu Xuequan

TEHRAN, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry on Saturday condemned U.S. "interference" in the country's internal affairs.

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said that "meddling" remarks of the U.S. president and his support for recent protests in some Iranian cities are "opportunistic and deceitful."

On Friday, protests erupted in some Iranian major cities over the government's potential move to raise the prices of some basic commodities including fuel and bread.

The UN General Assembly voted 128-9, excluding the abstentions, in favour of the motion.

She said: “Let me start with very much thanking you for the support we received on the vote today. We will never forget it”.

Previous Mr Trump suggested he would cut off financial aid to those who voted for the motion.

The pranksters then moved the discussion to the situation in Binomo.

Mr Stolyarov, who was posing as Mr Morawiecki, said: “You know Binomo” to which Ms Haley replied “yes, yes”.

“They had elections and we suppose Russia had its intervention”, he continued.

Ms Haley then replied: “Yes, of course they did, absolutely.

“We’ve been watching that very closely, and I think we will continue to watch that as we deal with the issues that keep coming up about the South China Sea.”

He then asked her what the US was planning to do about the island to which Ms Haley responded that she needed to “find out exactly what our stance is on that” and get back to them.

Poland and Ukraine have traditionally been allies but relations have soured in recent months due in part to a spat over the wartime killing of Poles in Ukraine.

A spokesperson for Ms Haley, John Degory, told The Post and Courier he would not confirm or deny the authenticity of the video. "We have nothing to share on that at this time," he said.

The Russian pranksters are known for impersonating Eastern European officials to mock and undermine Western leaders.

A spokeswoman for the department told Bloomberg at the time: “These individuals are known for pranking high-level officials and celebrities, particularly those who are supportive of an agenda that is not in line with their governments. In this case, the energy security of Ukraine.”

Now every time someone asks Nimrata Randhawa (AKA Nikki Haley) about a country that's not in the G20, she's gonna suspiciously look down at her Google phone to make sure she's not being played with again LOL.

Maybe we'll even get a "Takijistan??!! HAAA You tried to fool me but it didn't work this time! That's NOT a real country!!" LOLOLOL

And the Palestinians have been there for just an equally long amount of time as well. While I am not saying that the Jews are undeserving of a capital, it is just as immoral and pathetic to tell the Palestinians to pack up and leave. As history would recall, Jerusalem was supposed to be divided between East and West. With each side being the respective capital (or an international city) of each side per the founding agreement of Israel, however in the 1967 war Israel annexed East Jerusalem and insofar has show no intention of giving it back.
Though I am not explicitly standing by any one's side in this dispute, I am of the opinion that if we want the world to be a better place. The nations of the world can start by acting a little less hypocritical and double standard.
As of now, would be powers like China, Russia and Iran are emulating the US/Israel example during the UN vote. That so long as you have might, that makes right. And you can run over anyone you please. And the US is supposed to be the so called guardian of the "international order".
