It's pretty sad how the Western propagandists degraded the meaning of "human rights" for their own gain. This is just an empty buzzword now.
Both are garbage. The Chinese worship the west too blindly in the early 2000s. I remember flying out of China and seeing some really creepy people adopting Chinese girls. I hope I am wrong with what might of happen to some of them.

At this point in the game, China can give most of the concessions, and still run circles around them.
Before, when China had nothing and joined the WTO, China gave all the concessions, opened up their economy further, got to work, and the rest is history.
