Problem is that the naval power usually comes with an implied usage of the naval power to secure maritime trade. Something the USSR was fairly reluctant to do.
The USSR barely had any seaborne trade?

The video was about prosperity created by Maritime powers (Constantly comparing British with Russia not USSR) since they are trading and are protected by Navy. while Land Powers always fear invasions and can be disturbed by stable neighbors.Well, I certainly don't think the USSR wasn't a naval power. It had the second largest navy in the world, pretty broadly speaking. It was a formidable opponent to the US.
Even usage of Naval power not guarantee of success as the cost of naval operations will be always more than people interfering from Land.Problem is that the naval power usually comes with an implied usage of the naval power to secure maritime trade. Something the USSR was fairly reluctant to do.
