Since Jeffrey Edward Epstein is the topic du jour . . .
1. Epstein did NOT work for Mossad. There's more to the "Israeli" intelligence community than Mossad, especially if we're talking less formal intelligence and covert action networks.
Epstein was way too senior to be handled by a Mossad case officer or even the head of Mossad. Former Israeli PM Ehud Barak — on multiple occasions — flew to Epstein to meet with him rather than vice versa.
That should give you an approximate idea on where Epstein stood on the food chain . . .
2. Epstein wasn't working for the Russian state, but like Ghislaine Maxwell's father, Bob Maxwell, he collaborated with Russian actors when interests converged.
This wasn't just "trading favors" with the Russian intelligence community, but also supporting the agendas of aligned Russian actors engaging in elite competition within Russia and the broader former Soviet Union.
3. Don't think of Epstein as a Mossad sayanim or spy. He participated in elite competition that was effectively borderless.
