Not saying they have to be in China if one has aspirations of going international. These days you're just basically guaranteed to fail. Yeah they thought they had a captured market for themselves in the US because of anti-Chinese attitudes. But you look Chinese to an American. It's just like Indians think they can be the next China but thought Americans won't see them as the same kind of potential threat that being the next China entails. Is it just like Vivek Ramaswamy thinking white MAGA wasn't going to see him as not white? You don't see China making videos depicting a future where white people are the beggars on the streets and servants to rich Indians. And I bet most Americans haven't even seen that video. That's why non-China Asia is feeling so insecure with Trump policies after they again thought they were the exception happy with him winning office. They want to believe it's all about nationality and not race because then they would have hope. They also think they're scoring points by not thinking it's all about race. Vietnam is still communist and Japanese and South Koreans are still not white. It was the Mongolians that started the yellow scare in Europe and it was the Japanese who made the West fear non-white industrial competition and militarization. Ironic up until now that nothing was started by China.

You have to wonder who is even more dumb? The redneck MAGA that would never buy a Vietnamese car or the "liberal" rich Americans thinking VinFast was going to be something big and invested? The battery is from CATL and they were leasing it to people who bought their cars. What made them think that was a winning formula? Because they were anti-China?

Two US soldiers and a civilian interpreter killed in Syria.

Just as the US thought they could extricate themselves from the ME.
Well they are always trying cause trouble around the world. It’s not right in saying this but for the USA to actually start to appreciate just how much most of the world hates them for there hegemonic activities, more of these kind of events are overdue to occur

India is finally going to “fix” their air pollution problem by rewriting air pollution standards. After spending the last few months spraying water on air quality sensors to “reduce pollution.” They have decided to make up a their own air quality standards while declaring those like the World Health Organization guidelines as being unofficial.

So that's what's become of it huh? I only saw the company in passing here and there from Vietnamese nationalists hyping it up endlessly, since it was their country's only so called "multinational corporation" and even saying it could capture market share while BYD and NIO were being tarriffed left and right.

And I'm sorry while Vietnam has made massive strides, at its current level of development no way in hell would they have the engineering expertise to make a globally competitive tech product like an EV.

Cgtn video abt Japan exports to China.
Japan's semiconductor industry - a sector deeply tied to the Chinese market - is now balancing on a razor's edge after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's erroneous remarks on Taiwan region. From chipmaking equipment to vital rare earth imports, the ripple effects are spreading fast - and the escalating "Takaichi Fallout" is posing a direct and fundamental threat to the pillars of Japan's high-tech future.

Willett Advisors’ Steven Rattner joins Wall Street Week after returning from China to share his view of an economy running at two speeds – weak consumption but booming tech. He discusses how China is overtaking the US in electric vehicles, biotech, and AI, and why tariffs are unlikely to stop that momentum. Rattner argues that the US must compete through innovation and smart policy at home, and not by trying to slow China down.
