I'd would say they will just dig an even bigger hole for themselves.
But at this point China's happy to dig it for them, even if they try to climb out.
Let us just say that China is willing to now beat Japan to death with the same shovel that it just dug its own grave(like in the movies)-what a can of worms Grinch-face Takaichi just opened and about the 1972 Sino-Japanese communique -NO ONE especially the Japanese who at that time thought of China as a "big lumbering stupid goose" that needs ultra-modern Japan to lead it to modernization/prosperity then and for the foreseeable future-thank Heaven,NO,NO,NO.And many, many, many Chinese are very willing to suffer some/alot of hardship in order to crush/obliterate/eviscerate,bludgeon/disembowel/behead/flay/destroy/incinerate black-hearted Japan-Iam one of them.As Mike Tyson said,"it's all fun and games until someone gets punched in the face"

Strikes me like the bangladeshis striking against India since Hasina was their agent.
What did she think India was, by their support she would live thousand years and rule with impunity, forever?

Those who live by the sword they must die by the sword, usually thier end is not a nice little cushy retirement, goodbye Hasina.

She's being protected in India after she fled. So unfortunately we will not see her get her comeuppance.

1. I thought the whole thing was bullshit all along right from the start.

2. They might want to spin it as some sort of weird test, but it only shows the caliber of these political dummies.

3. Maybe the Japanese are smarter than the Dutch, as they did not lose any money yet. Who knows, maybe China Coast Guard.

4. Talk and more talk. They cannot back it up, Netherlands or Japan. Not sure if the Americans are able to back it up. I would think no. Get the minions to bark.
Objectively everyone knows Japan has no independent say in this, if US chickens out they'll be ordered to sit down so to not drag US in through their defence treaty, and if US want to fight Japan will be ordered to jump in first because they're an expendable tool.

So it was never about the content of what she said but rather the fact that she said anything. There's nothing Japan can spin nor explain nor justify because the content doesn't matter, no more than an animal can explain why they did an animal thing to a human. For all practical purposes China has simply decided to punish the animal for barking, to re-train the animal to associate pain with following it's current owner's commands, the only question is if China's long term goal is to train the animal to become China's pet, or to cull it.

Ideally just cull it. If they want to train themselves and then submit completely before the culling process finishes, then maybe what's left can be spared.
