This is what you get if your country is ruled by financial crooks instead of engineers: nonsensical false promises. BTW, if you have the patience to listen to the video clip, you will find out that Scott Bessent is incredibly delusional. He claims that they can form a "democratic rare earth supply chain", as though RE technology and expertise have anything to do with democracy.
China listening to Americans explaining how they're going to solve this in 1-2 years is like an adult listening to a child describe how he'll build a moon rocket in his back yard lol

China knows exactly what's needed to solve RE, China might even know exactly what Americans need to do to solve RE, and China can and will kill off any attempt before Americans even realize those things need to be attempted.

The only viable way for America to solve RE is to invest in education and infrastructure today, then wait 5-10 years and do a really, really good job at pretending not to be a threat to China.
But instead they're arguing over if they should spend money to prevent 12% of their population from starving, lol

let us have a moment of silence for all those big brain “entrepreneurs” who went to India, got extorted by the Indian government, almost died from dysentery and still ended up having to pay a gazillion rate tariff whereas if they had stayed in China, not only would they have saved millions but also have been able to enjoy Chinese snacks and having a healthcare system that works and all without having to ingest any form of faecal matter.
hey grok, what is the opportunity cost of the entrepreneur who moved to India compared to staying in China? That’s an extra couple mill that could’ve opened a new factory, new capital investment that could’ve expanded your business instead of going to corrupt Indian politicians who turn it into shit in one form or another.

Its interesting how they're pretending China is allowing Nexperia chip export, when the actual published Chinese rules is slavery:

- Only companies that's ran out of chips and facing shutdown can apply, meaning China can keep them in perpetual near shutdown state kill-able at a moment's notice
- The companies can't change to a different supplier, because unless they instantly switch the entire volume over, they'll cease to be in crisis and as such lose Nexperia supply before their new supplier ramps up.
- Companies can only get the chips if they pass comprehensive review, which means they have to disclose anything and everything China requires, continuously. These rules also obviously imply the companies cant stockpile chips, or buy them on someone else' behalf.

China offered them a bomb collar in exchange for being allowed to live, and they're celeberating, lol

Aforementioned clauses for Naxperia chip exports does sound like China of 2025, Good luck to all the parties involved.

A lot of these esp neolib ones think this is one of those strategy games where every faction has the same units, development speed, culture etc. So you just move things to another faction/country and problem solved.

Even Civilization knows there are differences. And the game is extremely simplified in differences compared to real life.

Given that his country is effectively a Samsung subsidiary and a US colony, Lee Jae-myung really has the balls to ask Xi about communication security of the Chinese smartphone even if only jokingly. What would Lee Jae-yong and Trump think of his intention?

Bravo to Xi for his witty response.

BTW, just noticed how the two Lees' names in English spelled so close to each other, as if they were siblings.
