Look at how they talk about the Unitree H2. Everyone is going learn from how Unitree designed the joints to apply that knowledge to their robots. You know what’s that called if it was China doing that from US robot designs? It’s called stealing. That’s how come they look down at DeepSeek because they charged China took the shortcut and got a head start from learning from their models.
If you’ve been watching these types of videos, the West can only criticize Chinese design choices on their robots. They act like the goal is to replicate exactly human intelligence with AI and then human movement with robots. That’s why China will win the race commercially. Why do you need every AI and robot to be able to do everything a human can when? Do you need a super artificial general intelligence to be encased in human robot form? No. Do you need artificial general intelligence to run an Amazon cashierless store that they told everyone it was operated by AI but in fact because they were caught lying when revealed it was just a bunch of people outsourced from India just remotely operating the store? No, but to them China has failed because they haven’t achieved that… and neither have they.
Everyone else has to experiment and try and learn from others but China has to get everything right and replicate a human precisely the first time around or else China has failed.
If this were a Chinese robot company, alarm bells would be ringing and they would cry out “Fraud!” At least they’re honest unlike Amazon claiming their stores were AI operated. Here they’re actually admitting but somehow naively believing people would be okay with a complete stranger remotely controlling a perv bot running around their house. And you’re paying $20K to give them that privilege. Yeah they say you can put restrictions on it but then you find out that Apple and Amazon if you have Siri or Alexa can turn on the mic and listen in on you without your permission. Yeah it’s to collect data to improve customer experience just improve customer experience. Yeah they’ll be all ethical and moral so don’t worry about abuse. I get that spoiled naive billionaire tech bros vibe from the Neo Founder guy when promoting this. Yeah people will accept this…
