I have always maintained that China´s greatest asset is its huge human capital. Now a smart Chinese econ student wrote a blog about it. China has ~61% of the world´s geniuses.

I'm all for china being a smart nation but I hope these kind of studies doesn't breed hubris and arrogance! I mean a nation of geniuses may not succeed if there isn't a good support structure or good governance structures, or social cohesion

Often times geniuses don't work well with others, and succeed less trying to do everything themselves.

People will disagree but I have to rant.

Chinese people need to be better at working as a group or team. Sometimes a single genius doesn't get further then a group of normal intelligence people.

I only recently came across this news, why on earth they decided to pull this retarded stunt 2 weeks before their general election is completely beyond my comprehension.
They probably decided to pull this stunt precisely because it is just weeks before their general election. Acting tough on China to tap into the deep and widespread Western hatred and fear of China is pretty much standard operating procedure for every Western politician and political party nowadays. Since the effects of China's retaliation will not be felt until after the election is over, this is really the optimal timing to pull such a stunt.

These are all interdependent; talent doesn't just appear out of thin air. Without a good support system, governance structure, or social cohesion, it's impossible to have a country brimming with talent.

The only thing Europe has left is the civilian airliner industry. It will be displaced over the next decade.

Europe needed Russian commodities, not just energy, and the Russian and Chinese markets to prosper. At this rate they will have neither.

They are trying to make trade deals with Latin America, but that will be death of the European farming sector. It just cannot compete in price. And they will find Chinese businesses already setup there by the time they move in.

China's greatest assets: 1. The people believe that "knowledge changes destiny"; 2. The government provides people with opportunities to change their fate. These two factors together have produced a large number of talented people. Isn't it contradictory to criticize China's education system while praising the high average IQ of Chinese people? He must no longer be Chinese; his way of thinking is completely Westernized!

This is analysis by Copilot of number of people with super high IQ ... for major countries
