Education Ministry is looking to clamp down on private tuition industry.
Basically some apps and tuition centers are offering extracurricular tuition to kindergarten kids and many people including the government is unhappy about this recently growing practice.
And of course some idiotic tiger parents are part of the reason for this unhealthy trend.
This is what am talking about. China leads and shows with concrete actions not with flowery rhetoric, holier than thou speech about the virtues of Confucianism or See See Pee's par excellence governing system.
I rather have them give $1 Million than not give at all. America announces big $$ like in Haiti but yet none or so little of the aid were actually received by the people that needed the money.

Why do you expect China to shower them with gift? Isn't it the responsibility of the Filthy rich Saudi Arabia to give their Arab brethren money? China does not have oil oozing from from the ground. For every dollar China earn it is the labor of sweat and hard work of Chinese people. And there are still million of Chinese people who earn less than $3 a day. So I say Charity start at home China is more than generous but. The Arab has to find a way to live in peace in their neighborhood.

Whole heartedly agree with the points you made and I don't think I was making or made a statement that can lend to the notion that I would like China to provide more than what's fiscally necessary and responsible. What I said was that if and when China gives aid or help It does so with action and not speechifying b.s. my statement was made sarcastically.
It depends on the purchasing power. $1 million can go a long way in China when compared to other places. As Hendrik mentioned, it's time for the Islamic nations like Saudi Arabia and UAE to step up with aid.
